Famille Rose Porcelain Cockerels From China
I believe these exquisite Cockerel figurines are from the late 19th to early 20 th Century. The China mark is impressed on the inside bottom area. The bottom hole is opened. They seem heavier and each weigh almost 7 ounces.
The pictures do not show the true beauty and detail in the soft pastel enamels painted on white porcelain. Very fine rust colored lines outline the different colors and the details in the feathers. Each stands 6 1/2 inches high and 3 3/4 inches at the widest point
Only one issue noted is that the beak of one cockerel has a small chip. The other is in pristine condition.
In my research I was surprised to find out how collectible these figurines have become and also the value. The Cockerels sat on a family members kitchen window ledge for a lifetime.
