Vintage Silverplated Warming Bowl

Just the perfect serving help for your next dinner party. This beautiful vintage warmer is hallmarked. I could not find the exact mark but the crown is like the Sheffield Crown. There is a shield that has two lions and a scrolled S on one side of the shield and a worn initial on the other side of the shield.

I have not seen a warming unit like this with the footed base. The top portion is attached to the bottom plate making this unit very sturdy. The lid has a spiral like design. Some of the plating has worn off of the lid nob. There is a 1 1/2 quart pyrex bowl placed inside the silverplated bowl. To use you would put hot water in the large silverplated bowl and then place the pyrex bowl. This is the best way to keep food warm without direct heat which could burn the food. A really good way to serve hot cheese dips. The alcohol burner is in good condition. The warmer stands approximately 8 1/4 inches high and a few inches more when the lid is in place. The diameter from handle to handle is 11 1/2 inches.

Considering the age this warming unit is in good condition. There are a few pit spots on the bottom base and some ware on the top nob.

A very eloquent design and serving piece for your next party.
