Vintage 1934 Playground Games Bronze Medal - New York American Newspaper Award

This beautiful medal was apparently given as an award for participation in Playground Games by the New York American Newspaper to a child in the mid-1930s. It is in excellent condition. I did a little searching and could not easily find any history about the Playground Games, however the event must have some importance at the time to have had a custom made medal, and what a beautiful medal it is!

The New York American was actively publishing newspapers between 1902 and 1937

The tiny inscription under the name of the newspaper reads "An American Paper for the American People." It also reads "America First" at the top of the Medal. The medal is signed by Lambert Bros. Jewelers of New York.

The medal measures 1" wide by almost 1-1/2" high.
