Vintage Hand Simulated Alligator Handbag

This fashionable old purse is made to look like alligator but is probably made of a vinyl leatherette. I would say the color resembles Cordova leather, a rich reddish brown. It is trimmed with gold tone metal and has a single clasp in the center. Inside there is a large compartment which is lined with a brown fabric with a small open compartment that has an ochre lining. It has a single strap that is braded at each end and runs through eyelets at the top. There are no identifying labels.

It measures about 10 1/4” wide and 8 1/2” high excluding the handles, 14 1/4” high with the handles raised and 3 1/2” deep at the bottom. It is in fair condition with some wear issues as shown in the pictures, especially to the strap and the edges near the bottom. The inside is generally clean and odor free and the clasp works well.
