Stylish Mexican Pottery Owl with Bright Colors

This is a very stylized, brightly colored pottery owl. The white base allows the rich colors to jump out at you. It has an interesting full body shape with small nondescript legs. It was probably made in the Tonala region of Mexico, decorated in the fashion that Tonala pieces are recognized for. It is marked; Mexico on the front. The bottom of the feet and tail was unglazed.

It measures about 8 1/4" and is in very good condition with no damage. The tip of the right "ear" has no glaze. It appears to be in the manufacturing and not damage.
