Circa 1873 Pair of Carte de Visites German Kaiser Wilhelm I and Kaiserin Augusta

Wilhelm I was King of Prussia from 1861 to 1888 and became the first German Emperor (Kaiser) in 1871. His Queen and Empress (Kaiserin) was Princess Augusta of Saxe-Weimar. Both are normal CDV size and in good condition with some foxing on each card, as shown. The Prussian royal crest is imprinted on the back of both cards. His has number 1001 printed below "Wilhelm I., deutecher Kaiser" and her card is numbered 1002 below "Augusta, deutsche Kaiserin."

You are getting the pair for the price shown. These came from a set of European royalty CDV's apparently collected during a Grand Tour of Europe. Many cards in the album in which these were found were dated 1873 by their Victorian collector.
