Mintons Pottery Teddy Bears 'Down to the Woods' Artist Hand painted plate 1907
A charming Mintons plate hand painted with the delightful colourful scene of teddy bears on a day's outing. The teddy bear policeman directs the traffic as a large, lilac colour motor car approaches the pedestrian teddies. To the rear a signpost points the way 'Down to the Woods.' The whole happy scene is surrounded by Minton's Vandyke printed pattern border with a lustred rim and hand gilded accents.
Fully marked to base with impressed Mintons mark, date code for 1907, registration lozenge for original design date for the Vandyke border for 1859
Condition: In very good condition with no damage, no restoration, all the hand painting is fresh and bright. A little light glaze crazing to underside naturally commensurate with age
