Vintage child's hanging clothes rack, fab painted clown!

Such a fun find for me, this terrific old painted wood clown with five hanging pegs. He's got such a great look to him, with his laughing eyes, his wide open mouth and his truly terrific red hair. I'm reasonably sure that he was hand made, a loving project for a favorite child, and now a fun piece of folk art. The paint is original and in excellent condition, quite shiny and glossy, which didn't really show up in my pictures. He measures 21" across, 16" from top to bottom, 11.5" across from tip to tip of his hair on each side. Made of heavy quarter inch wood, the five pegs stand out 4.5" from his deep rose frilly collar, and 5" from the wall. Cheerful, colorful, just looking at this clown makes you smile. While originally meant for a child's room, I can think of so many other places for our happy clown. Dating to the 1950s'.
