Cat on Drum Covered Dish Powder Jar Portieux France
Cat on Drum Covered Dish. This piece is a Camphor Powder Jar which was made by Portieux of France in the late 1880's. It is very unusual to see this piece in Camphor Glass. It is 4 1/4" across x approx 5" tall. The Cat is perched on the lid with music symbols by her side. Usually these Cat's ears are chipped, but this one is perfect. The base is not the Drum base, but it is the way I purchased it. I am pricing this for just the lid so you can keep the base or throw it away. There are interior cracks & abrasions all around it as you can see from my photos. Your can have a beautiful hard to find Cat if the piece was put on a shelf where the base didn't show.
