1882 Chesapeake & Ohio Grain Elevator RR Bond Certificate. Attractive New Jersey bond with vignette of steam train pulling along side a grain elevator. Farm workers harvesting hay on other side of train. Bond is signed by C P Huntington. Collis Potter Huntington (1821 – 1900) was one of the Big Four of western railroading (along with Leland Stanford, Mark Hopkins, and Charles Crocker) who built the Central Pacific portion of the first U.S. transcontinental railroad. Huntington then helped lead and develop other major railroads such as the Southern Pacific and the Chesapeake and Ohio. VF condition with many punch cancellations. Bond has full sheet of coupons.
