1900s Tobacco Felt
We have been told this is a tobacco felt that came as a premium from Turkish Cigarettes in WWII. Tobacco felts were included in tins of loose tobacco as a premium, and for cleaning the user's pipe. This one is a beautiful miniature rug that measures 4 1/4" x 2 1/8" and is an orange and blue with fringes on both ends. The colors are great. There is nothing written on the back of this one. It is in perfect condition with no rips, tears, and holes. The felt has never been wet. The tobacco felts make wonderful "rugs" for dollhouses. They were packed away all these years and have never been used. Please check the photos very carefully.
