1951 Ad - 7-Up SEVEN UP ~ 'Children Christmas Carollers'

This full-colour, dated beverage ad for 7-UP - "The All-Family Drink!" - features a photo of a young family enjoying the boy and girls chorus of carolers (listening from behind a closed window?). A large, familiar green bottle dominates the left side of the composition. The Seven-Up Co. is fortunate to share the Christmas colour scheme of green and red, as this ad wishes a "Merry Christmas to all".

Many vintage ads can act as "time capsules", reflecting the styles and sensibilities of a particular era. Christmas ads, perhaps due to the traditional, "family" nature of the holiday, often evoke a stronger sense of nostalgia. They can stir childhood memories of simpler, more sentimental times.
