Vintage Madonna Virgin Mary Planter Figural 11 Inches 1940s 1950s

The figural stands 11 inches high and 5 1/2 inches across at its widest. The back of her robe is a glossy pale blue, while the rest of the figural is a soft creamy white matte finish. There are striking gold accents at her neckline, ends of her flowing sleeves and in the folds at the bottom of her robe.

The dry foot wedge shapes on the bottom are usually indications of manufacture by American Bisque Pottery. No markings and originally might have had a paper or foil label. There are no chips, cracks or damage, and all gold is intact. Only fault is a line of discoloration around the inside of the planter.

I am really drawn to the beauty of this piece – the soft colors, the way the lines flow so beautifully – not even any harsh lines on the planter at the back. Her beauty, and the calmness and serenity that she portrays, is mesmerizing. The images do not do justice to this lovely piece – much nicer than shown!
