Miniature Royal Doulton Character Jug Capt Ahab
This miniature Royal Doulton character jug is Capt Ahab, the famous whaling captain from the classic Moby Dick. He measures 2 1/2 inches high and is 2 1/2 inches across to the handle, that is actually in the form of a gray whale.
The Capt Ahab jug was designed by Garry Sharpe and made from 1959 to 1984. Base is marked “Capt Ahab D 6522 Copr 1958”.
Condition is excellent, with bright glossy colors and is well defined. There are no chips, cracks, hairlines or losses to the paint. Inside is pristine, in a creamy ivory color. Any white spots shown are camera glare.
A lovely piece for a Doulton or nautical collection!
