Vintage Ladies Coat Forstmann Marvella II Marki New York 1950s

Coat has a shawl collar, dolman sleeves, and is a very elegant wrap style, with the front overlapping, and no visible closures to detract. One side is fastened to the other side seam, with a concealed satin ribbon that ties. The remaining side just overlaps at the front. It will accommodate different waist sizes by adjusting the satin tie. The lady who wore this was petite in size, so would probably be a small to medium.

This coat was pre-owned, but shows little signs of use. Examining the coat closely in bright light, there is just one tiny spot of wear to the top surface adjacent to the bottom of the right pocket that is visible only as a shadow impression. There is no hole that goes beyond the top surface and it does not go through to the back. Just a loss on the top. It measures approximately 1/8 inch and is easy to miss unless examining very closely. When not worn, this was cedar closet stored.

Top of shoulder at neckline to bottom: 43 inches

Underarm seam to cuff: 17 1/2 inches

Across hip area: 22 inches

Underarm seam to underarm seam across front: 22 1/2 inches

Across bottom: 24 inches, or 27 inches with ribbon tied a little looser
