Vintage Occupied Japan Bird Figurine Handpainted Ceramic

A brightly colored hand painted figural bird made of ceramic bisque porcelain in Occupied Japan ( c 1945 - 1952) One, with lovely aqua green tones, it is likely a pheasant. There are shades of brown, beige and cream accents on the feathers, with a red outline accentuating the eyes.

These bird figurines were very popular imports from post WW2 Japan. The base is stamped "Made in Occupied Japan" .

The pheasant figurine is 4 x 2 1/2 . Each bird stands on a 2 x 1 1/4 inch oval pastel green base.
