Vintage Dog Figurines Spaniel with Pups on Leash Fifties Japan

Delightful Japanese made ceramic porcelain figurines from the early 1950s, featuring a dog with two puppies attached to her with a divided metal chain leash. A friend who is a figurine expert called these "muttley" dogs, most likely spaniels. Nicely hand painted with white heads and tan brown bodies, black ears, tails eyes and spots, with red noses, tongues and the collar on mom.

The sitting adult is 3 1/4 inches tall and the pups about 1 1/4 inches high, one standing on its hind legs and the other on all fours, head raised toward the mother dog.

Excellent condition with the remnants of a foil label that has a black background with silver crown insignia and a manufacturers name that I cannot decipher, as well as Reg. U.S. Pat. Off MADE IN JAPAN
