Vintage Glass Covered Jar Pedestal Footed Green Satin

A gorgeous glass jar that has a pleasing blend of frosted and transparent green glass, with the bowl and lid made from smooth satin glass and the faceted finial and sculpted pedestal stem plus rounded foot in matching green transparent glass. These are known as covered candy jars, but I have also seen them described as covered compotes aka comport. I believe this piece was made in Italy during the Mid Century Modern period of the 1940s 50s 60s. The glass is of high quality and the design is elegant with flawless manufacture.

The height of this piece is 10 inches, with bowl rim diameter of 6 inches. Condition is excellent.

A lovely vintage jar that is very versatile, and would look great in a bathroom too, holding cotton balls or small guest soaps. If you are looking for a decorative accent for a sunny shelf, this glass looks so good in bright light!
