Vintage Handbag Tapestry Petit Point Floral Fabric Purse Chain Strap

This is such a pretty evening or formal purse, that would also add chic to a more casual look, so is very versatile. It is made from a floral tapestry or petit point designed fabric, based on the style of the antique French handcrafted bags.

The woven fabric is black, and has the petit point style floral array at the front of the bag, with a cream colored center, filled with muted multicolor sprays of flowers, and framed by a golden curlicue scroll surround.. The gold tone metal frame of the handbag is nicely decorated with a black and gold enamel design, and closes with a kiss clasp. The goldone metal byzantine chain shoulder strap adds extra elegance to this delightful Mid 20th Century vintage purse. The black fabric interior has a side pocket.

Condition is clean and excellent, with only some wear and tarnish to the chain strap and the kiss clasp. Dimensions are 7 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 1 inch, and the chain has a 24 inch drop. (48 inch length)
