Vintage Belt Gold Tone Metal Mesh Ornate Buckle Clasp

A lustrous gold tone metal mesh belt with a large ornate openwork buckle hook clasp, that has a butterfly shape. It is Mid Century vintage, no makers mark but very reminiscent of Whiting & Davis, with that characteristic soft and flexible metal meshwork

The mesh is made up of rows of small circular linked gold tone metal discs on the outside, with more of an English hobnail effect on the inside where they close with four points each. The clasp is sturdy and the openwork on the buckle is symmetrical.

Total length is 32 inches, including the almost 3 inch buckle, which is 2 inches at the wings and 1 1/2 inches in the middle, which is also the width of the belt. Excellent condition with all the mesh intact, and only very light metal wear to the buckle and clasp.
