Vintage Cigarette Case Wiesner Mother of Pearl Gold Tone Metal Mid Century

Although this case is not marked, I have had similar in stock with the Wiesner of Miami label attached. These were very popular amongst the smoking ladies of the 1950s and early "Made Men" sixties, and they often came in sets with matching cigarette lighters and cosmetic compacts etc.

The lid of this gold tome metal case is topped by a slab of silver white MOP, mother of pearl, that has a beautiful natural iridescence, appearing like ivory silk with its flowing optics. The outside of the hinged metal case is a smooth gold tone while the inside has guilloche design, with optical discs creating an overlapping array.

Dimensions are 3 1/2 x 1 3/4 x 3/4 inches and the condition is vintage excellent, with some wear marks to the metal, which can be further polished. The mother of pearl is in excellent condition.

A really lovely piece of collectible tobacciana that could also be used as a trinket box.
