Vintage Cigar Box Handbag Red Swan Havana Smoker Purse
This is such an eye catching cigar box bag. Purses made from converted, embellished cigar boxes have been popular for decades. I believe this one to be c 1970s-80s.
The bottom of the rectangular box has the famous "The Red Swan" label, beautifully embellished on the crown crest, swans and banner. The corners are fitted with brass toned metal brackets.
The purse has a matching metal handle, that folds forward and backward on ball hinges, as well as a hinged lock that closes with a swivel hook.
The top and sides of the box have the Havana Smoker label, and the inside is tastefully finished with padded black and white gingham check fabric, with an upper pocket.
Dimensions are 9 x 7 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches and the condition is clean and excellent. This purse was part of a collection and never used as a handbag, only displayed.
