Vintage Evening Handbag Sequins Beaded Seed Pearls Formal Purse

This evening purse features skillful craftsmanship incorporating ivory colored seed pearls, sequins and diamond shaped beads stitched on ivory satin, and with an ornate gold tone floral filigree metalwork frame and chain strap. I believe the vintage to be 1940s - 50s, and it was made in British Hong Kong. Would make a lovely vintage wedding accessory.

The beaded pattern on this bag has a floral theme, with vertical rows of flowers created with small seeded pearl petals surrounding central round faceted beads. These floral rows are separated by rows of diamond shaped beads, also pearl colored and the background is filled with the same shade of sequins, stitched to the satin with a seeded pearl center. An aurora borealis iridescence glistens from the surface of the beads.

The interior is thick padded ivory colored satin, with a stitched side pocket that has a white tag marked "Handmade in Hong Kong".

Dimensions are 8.5 x 7 inches and condition is excellent for it's age with no missing beads or sequins, but the interior satin has a some small ink and make up stains(see photo) and the metal frame and chain are very lightly tarnished from age. The metal filigree will polish up brightly and the stains can be carefully bleached out with a Q-tip or bleach pen.
