Vintage Dress and Jacket Beaded Floral Lace Eighties Judith Ann Creations Flapper Style Cream

This 1980s formal ensemble was has the Judith Ann Creations designer label. The dress can be worn alone as a stunning spaghetti strapped flapper style evening gown, or add the jacket with its padded shoulders to create a touch of Eighties glamor. This outfit would work as well for prom as for a wedding, or that special cocktail party.

The ivory cream shaded rayon fabric is intricately patterned in a floral lace, with copious adornment of tubular shimmering mother of pearl like beading. The dress is lined while the jacket is sheer.

The thin spaghetti straps of the calf length dress are made from multiple glistening tubular beads and they are adjustable via hooks sown into the fabric of the dress (see photo for details). The V neckline and rest of the top of the bodice are also trimmed with the beading. The slimline dress has a mermaid styled bottom that hangs in gentle folds while standing, but can flare out as shown in the photo. beautiful beading separates this panel from the upper part of the dress. The back closes with a long zipper, finished at the top with a hook and eye.

The matching evening jacket has long sleeves and closes at the neck with a hook and eye. it hangs down to the beading line that demarcates the lower flared panel of the dress. The neckline, cuffs, front and hem are all trimmed with the rows of tubular beads matching that on the dress straps and neckline. As mentioned above, the jacket shoulders are padded in the style that was so popular during the late 1970s into the 1980s, and the jacket is not lined the way the dress is

I have tried to fully describe this gorgeous outfit, but it really is impossible to do it justice in words or even in the photos. it has to be seen to be appreciated. The style is such that it would be as suitable as a young and trendy prom dress as it would an elegant mother of the bride two piece ensemble.

The skill of the beadwork is remarkable and the condition is vintage excellent, dry cleaned and no apparent loss of beads. Haute Couture look for a fraction of the price!
