Vintage Brooch Aurora Borealis Rhinestones Pearled Beads Citrine Crystals Atomic

This vintage brooch is designed with three dimensional array of a combination of varied aurora boreolis rhinestones, citrine navettes, amber chaton and pearled beads, creating a 3D atomic design that also resembles a wagon wheel, or snowflake shape

A 1 1/2 inch circle of small prong set taupe shaded pearled beads forms the perimeter of the brooch. The center has a beautifully faceted prong set amber chaton, with six radiating rows of aurora borealis chaton rhinestones, three stones in each row. These alternate with six citrine or champagne colored marquise shape navettes. The rays, petals or spokes are arranged so that three of each angle backward, behind the perimeter ring, with the remaining six angled forward, so creating the 3D effect. It is very hard to photograph because of the way the light reflects of the sparkling 3D stones.

The citrine jewels are 1/2 inch in length and the central amber chaton is almost 1/4 inch diameter, with the aurora borealis crystals about half that size and the faux pearl beads half again.

The back of the pin is matt gilded metal, closing with a safety swivel clasp.

I cannot find any markings, but the quality of the jewels and the skillful design makes me think this is likely an unmarked piece of designer costume jewelry. It is reminiscent of Juliana style (DeLizza and Elster ) especially because of the sparkling open backed navettes and the three dimensional arrangement of the layers of stones fit the criteria this may have been D&E made
