Vintage Porcelain Celery Dish Victorian Antique Floral Gladioli
This porcelain celery dish is from a family collection and dates to the early 20th Century. It is unmarked but believed Bavarian, Austrian or German based on lineage of the collector. The inside of the white porcelain dish is beautifully decorated in the center with gladiolus flowers in shades of cerise pink, lemon and white, accented by white daisies and green leaves. Either side of the elongated celery tray are decorated with what appears to be either a gladiolus or carnation stalk, with flower bud and opening pink bloom. The edges of the dish inside are embossed scrolls with beading around the scalloped rim, and hues of green are shaded around the bowl.
Dimensions are 12 1/2 x 5 x 1 3/4 inches and condition is excellent with light wear marks
Whether used for its intended purpose as a celery dish, or as a lovely decorative accent , even a trinket dish or vanity item holder, and could also be used as a bath accessory holding guest soaps or a rolled guest hand towel or washcloth....this is a very versatile item!
