Vintage Brass Powder Compact Jeweled

This rectangular powder compact is made from ornate brass and adorned with a large central semi precious stone with aqua hues, and surrounded by multicolor rhinestones in ruby red, sapphire blue, emerald green and topaz colors. The glass jewels are bezel set in a raised floral medallion that almost fills the lid of the compact. Decorated metal striations extend in rays to the edges of the lid. The back of the compact has vertical striations.

Inside is a mirror, cotton mesh sheet and original puff, with some powder residue. Dimensions are 2.75 x 2.25 inches and apart from metal wear and tarnish, due to age, this compact is in very good condition. It is not marked, but I have had similar compacts marked "made in Czechoslovakia" so I believe it to be of Czech origin. The style is Art Deco Egyptian revival
