Vintage Blouse Gunne Sax Jessica's Gunnies San Franscisco Seventies Poet Peasant Shirt
A 1970s hippie peasant shirt from Jessica Mclintock with the Jessica's Gunnies San Francisco label. The long sleeved blouse has a loose cut simple Victorian style, which was a popular look during the 60s-70s BoHo fashion period. These are also sometimes referred to as poet shirts. There is lovely floral embroidery bib in the front top, with salmon pink roses, green leaves, surrounded by a openwork beige floral embroidered panels. The rest of the shirt is a creamy ivory satin blend (satin, acetate, nylon)
Fourteen cloth covered round buttons close the front, with cloth loops, to about 3/4 down the shirt. There are two of these buttons on each cuff, and the sleeves are wide, gathered at cuffs and shoulders, creating a flowing sleeve.
Condition is very good, clean, and with clear color to the beautiful embroidery. The left sleeve has a few discoloration marks, which would likely come out easily with spot treatment. It looks something like a light coffee stain. The tag says dry clean only.
