Vintage Pottery Pitcher Hand Painted Polychrome Italian

This colorful large jug is believed Italian Majolica, and has the potter/decorator mark on the base. I have seen similar styled jugs from the Deruta region of italy The glazed faience pottery is white, with hand painted abstract floral type decorations, accented by assorted concentric rings and petal designs, in an assortment of colors, with blue being the most prominent.

The rim is designed to provide an indented spout for ease of pouring as well as artistic appeal, and the handle is sturdy. The pitcher stands 9 1/2 inches tall with 5 1/2 inches rim and base diameter. Condition is excellent vintage, with the usual variations in glaze and paint expected from handmade pottery
