Beautiful Vintage Italian Handpainted Bowl, Impressionistic Purple Orchid, ca. 1960s

This charming bowl has wonderfully free-form and colorful graphics! The vividly colored orchid is done in a flamboyant, impressionistic style and fills the bowl from rim to rim. The leaves are moss-, grass-, and teal-green; the petals are black and pale violet and embellished with rows of powder-blue dots of added paint. All leaves and petals are trimmed in bright gold. What a great display piece!

This bowl measures 7 1/2" x 2". In very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The gently pinched rim is lightly brushed with gold paint which is ca. 70% intact. There are a few, stray gold marks on the outside of this hand-thrown bowl and the base shows moderate wear (please see photos). Handwritten on the base is 'Italy' and 'Lock' (I think!).
