Gold embellished dust pan ash tray

Smoking is so yesterday, but collecting smoking items is very today. This vintage ash tray is white pottery with embellishments of gold. The ash tray is shaped like a dust pan with a handle at the top and an enclosed area for the ashes to accumulate at the back of the tray. There is a small cigarette rest at the front with a heavy gold embellished area to delineate it. The handle is also embellished with heavy gold decoration. The base is rough and unglazed and is marked with the numbers 6434 in gold and a blue mark. The ash tray is 5 1/4 inches long, 4 3/4 inches at its widest and is 2 3/4 inches tall. There are no chips, cracks or crazing on this item and the gold is in perfect condition.
