Native American Sugalite Drop Style Earrings in Sterling Silver

These earrings are quite stunning. The sugalite measures 19mm by 11 1/2mm. In each earring, the oval sugalite stone is bezel set in Sterling Silver with a Sterling Silver frame going around the entire stone. The frame or edging is decorated with etched designs. The earrings have kidney shape wires. From the middle of the kidney shape wire to the bottom of the stone is 1 1/2 inches. The earrings are stamped 'Sterling' on the back.

The sugalite is a beautiful shade of dark lavender or light purple. The sugalite mines are becoming depleted and it is getting much more difficult to acquire sugalite. In many cases the sugalite is being replace by Charorite.
