Rhinestone Top-Hatted "Wabbit Pin" by Karu dates to 1947!

Here's another delightful treasure that our friend and customer, Cynthia, is offering on consignment.

This is a signed KARU rhinestone rabbit brooch similar to that advertised in 1947 as a "Wabbit Pin". That particular "Wabbit Pin" can be found in Marcia Brown's 2006 book, "Rhinestone Jewelry - Figurals, Animals and Whimsicals". But I think this one with his top hat and cane is even cuter!

He's about 1 3/4" tall and his face, bow-tie and top hat are a-glitter in rhinestones ... such a showman! His cane is a full 1 1/2" long and has a single 5mm diameter bright, clear rhinestone attached to it. His exxagerated eyes are 7mm sapphire blue stones and his two buck teeth are spotted with red enamel. Such a happy little guy.

Not unlike all of us getting on in years, of course this little old fella is showing a few age spots here and there. He's also lost some of his tooth enamel and a rhinestone right in the middle of his nose! I think of it as having a mole removed, but if you have a loose rhinestone hanging around somewhere, that's an easy fix. He's worth that little repair because everything else about him is just so delightful. We've priced him accordingly.

He'll bring a smile to the faces of all who see him. After all, he is a showman!
