Antique Sarreguimenes France Pottery Plate Courting Couple - 6 inches

This is an antique plate with a multicolored depiction of a courting couple made in France by Sarreguemines. The mark that appears on the underside of the plate was in use between 1870 and 1920. The plate measures 6" in diameter and weighs 5.8 oz.

It is in good condition with the exception of moisture intrusion that appears as a water stain around the upper and side rim of the plate (see last close-up photo) - otherwise, there are no chips, cracks or other wear. Despite the staining, this is a very nice quality display plate - Sarreguemines is known for its quality earthenware.
