Sweet Vintage Circus Characters Baby Crib Quilt
It's always amazing to pick up a crib quilt that doesn't have the Sesame Street or Disney brand name on it. This colorfully animated quilt features circus characters like Morris the Lion, Marvello the Ringmaster, the Great Waldo and Francene the Fat Lady to name a few. The quilt is a heavy cotton and light beige with a very pale yellow/cream backing. The company name appears within the stitched fold along one corner so can only be partially made out as something Textiles 15584. I couldn't research accurate dating due to this but I would sincerely estimate the quilt to be pre-1970s.
I was quite surprised to see it's wonderful condition considering its age and use. One edge shows 2 small spots and there is a smaller and a half quarter sized smudge on the back (please see photos). It has not been cleaned and most spots do appear to be removable. The "F" on the edge looks like ink so I'm not sure about that one but it is quite small. There are no tears and no faded areas. The quilt measures 58" x 42".
