Vintage 1970's Day Dress-Boho-Renaissance, Lilith Fair
The fabric is a softly overall softly worn (gingham?) cotton that is made up of two floral patterns, one a medium size and one a small, that alternate. The soft colors used are on a soft black ground with the flowers executed in burgundy, tan, dusty rose, cornflower blue, grass green and a charcoal grey.
Styling: There is a 6 1/2" drop to the sweetheart neckline that meets a faux lace-up front. The cut work sleeves are a light tan color, and have thin elastic running around the sleeve opening. There is decorative crocheting around the neckline and wider at the hem and also there is a self fabric attached belt. There is an insert of the small flowered fabric below the bust that creates, along with the faux corset style, an empire waist. There is a 18" zipper at the back, and a very full skirt with a sweep of 110". It is unlined.
Measurements Overall length 44 1/2" Hips 39" or full Waist 27" Bust 31" length from shoulder to waist 14" Sleeve Length 15 ½” Shoulder 2" Across back shoulder height 11” Length from shoulder seam to waist in back 15”
Condition is very good. I can find no noticeable stains or flaws. The colors are now soft and I’m assuming that at one time when life was new, that the colors may have been brighter. That is only an assumption, the soft color is an allover fade if so. This garment while definitely wearable may be good for theatre as well. The ends ot the sleeves could use new elastic.
