1965 Hobe Gold Tone Rhinestone Surfer Brooch

What a great tribute to that search for the perfect wave, The Endless Summer (anyone remember that movie?) or of course the Beach Boys. This vintage brooch/pin from 1965 and made by Hobe is a reminder of those carefree days. We bought this as gold plated, but just to be safe we are listing it as gold tone. Whichever it is, it sparkles. The outer border of this brooch /pin is a lattice circular formation of shiny gold coloration. This encases our little surfer boy (apologies to Brian Wilson) his arms, legs and surfboard (striping and all) as well as “paddle” (I’m a New Yorker) he is holding is totally gold colored. The background is naturally blue representing the ocean where he is riding the waves. His face is a prong set pink colored rhinestone while his body is made of a prong set ruby red tear drop shaped rhinestone. The feel of the brooch is that of a summer’s day at the beach. The brooch/pin measures 1 1/2" and is marked Hobe 1965.
