Daum Butterfly and Leaf Dish

A large earthquake hit North Japan on March 11th, which seriously damaged Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. But I live far away enough from the focus and the station. I and my shop items are ALL SAFE. Please don't hesitate to purchase!

A butterfly is settling on the edge of a large leaf. It looks more silent than vivid, though it's realistically made. The gradation of purple, blue and orange is just beautiful.

Daum was famous mainly for etching and enameling, and its antique pieces have been fascinating us. But now it produces high quality pieces in pāte de verre. In the process of creating pāte de verre pieces, glass powder with a binding material is applied to the inner of a negative mold, fired to be fused, and then taken out of the mold.

This dish is a contemporary and continued piece. The retail price for new one is $780

Signed Daum France on the back (please see the picture #4).
