Meissen Year Plate 1992 Winter Forest

A large earthquake hit North Japan on March 11th, which seriously damaged Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. But I live far away enough from the focus and the station. I and my shop items are ALL SAFE. Please don't hesitate to purchase!

Layaway for up to 3 months is available! For the detail, please contact me!

This beautiful plate is a year plate for 1992 by Meissen, entitled "Winterwald" (winter forest in English).

It's a dreamy winter scene. You overlook a coniferous tree forest. It's night and there is a crescent moon. The snow falls on trees silently. An angel blows a trumpet.

This plate is one of the series of six abstract scenic year plates from 1992 to 1997. Only the 1992 plate is related to Christmas of the six.

Design by Heinz Werner, who designed "1001 Nights", "Blue Orchid", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and so on. The back shows the underglaze mark of two swords and "Aquatinta" (aquatint in English), which is a type of copperplate etching and makes this plate look like a watercolor painting. NOT hand painted!

The back has a metal fitting to hang on the wall.
