Wonderful Circus Ringmaster Figural Brooch Pin--Rhinestones, Enamel
The baton he holds with such a flourish is missing the original stone at the top. I've found a peridot green stone of approximately the same vintage and style as the others. I can glue that in for you if you wish, or I can leave the setting empty for you to put in whatever stone or pearl you'd like. There is a mark shaped like a bell on the back of his head, but I have been unable to discover what company used this particular mark. If you happen to know, I'd be pleased to hear from you!
Measures 2 ¼" north-south by 1 ¼" east-west. Depth is about ¼" without the pin mechanism. Please note that the red mark on his nose is a reflection and is not actually present. Rhinestones are all in good condition and are glued-in. Enamel shows some wear and there is a little loss on the hat. One boot may have the toe broken off--it is rough in comparison to the other boot, so might have been broken and the enamel retouched, or it could have happened when it was removed from the mold during manufacturing. It's both difficult to tell, and difficult to see. There is a little crazing of the silver tone plating, The pin mechanism is a safety-pin type with a C clasp. It is riveted on and works well. This whimsical piece is in good vintage condition.
