Franciscan Apple 10 5/8" Dinner Plate

This plate by the Gladding, McBean & Co. is part of the Franciscan Dinnerware line. It is made in their most famous pattern - Apple. This hand painted earthenware is in near mint condition. There are no chips, cracks, etc. I find only a few very slight use marks. The glaze is beautiful and the colors of the apples, leaves and bark are vibrant and clear.

The backstamp on this plate dates this item to the July 1964 production. This is backstamp XXI. Production with this backstamp ran from July 1964 until 1966. (re: Franciscan - An American Dinnerware Tradition - p. 258).
