ABOUT Ken Edwards: Ken Edwards is the venerable dean of Mexican stoneware, having worked with Jorge Wilmot to introduce the technique into Mexico in the 1950s. The Collection series is Ken Edwards' most exclusive line in current production. It is characterized by extensive use of the colors blue and green, extraordinary detail work, and the recurrence of certain animal motifs, especially birds and butterflies.
Ken Edwards stoneware is hand-painted and fired at very high temperatures. Individual artisans are given extensive freedom in the design of each object and no two pieces are exactly alike in the images they display. All Ken Edwards pottery bears the initials "KE" and the individual artisan's signature in the form of a painted figure (see photos).
All Ken Edwards items offered by Tlalli Designs are new. Nevertheless, these are handmade objects so some irregularities in the design, glaze, and clay are part of the charm of each unique work of art. The object is lead-free and dishwasher safe. Ken Edwards stoneware is produced in Tonalá, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico.
