Large Antler Stag Horn Carving Knife 18" English Verinder St Paul's London
This ia a very large Stag horn handle carving knife with pommel and metal cap. The steel blade is marked "Verinder St. Paul's London". The blade 13 1/4" long to the hilt. The handle is 5" long for a total length of 18 1/4". The horn is possibly Indian stag antler horn, which is naturally shed each year.

Mr. Henry Verinder's cutlery business was established in 1766 and was still in the same family when it was written about in "Illustrated London" published in 1893. I have not found more current information about the company. According to Wikipedia, this size knife is particularly good for carving thin slices of meat.
There is no rust on it, and no nicks. Please ask questions if you like.
