Geisha purse made by Mary Francis
This Mary Francis purse is truly a unique thing of beauty. This purse is 6 inches tall and 6 ½ inches wide at the greatest point. This purse has a beautiful geisha with a 3 D parasol of red with silver colored beads and wood sticks for the inner parts and handle. The opposite corner has an interpretation of a fan with pearl and white beads and s shaped details. Three trinket metals hang from the bottom of the purse. The sides are in green and gold colored brick type pattern of raised beads. The bottom of the purse is irregular in shape. The other side has the same hard clear varnish finish over what appears to be money and fabric with writing. Some chain trim is on the lower edge of this piece. The cover of this used ornate purse is attached with a chain handle strung through holes. It also has bead ornamentation with a butterfly and sunset. The inside of this purse has a label that reads Mary Francis 3120. The purse is a box 2 inches wide and 4 inches long. The top of the purse has the hard varnish finish over a small framed Geisha on it in green and gold. Those colors are the predominant ones in this unique piece. Truly a purse that would make a statement wherever it was worn.
