Pre-WWII, Children of Japan by Stella Burke May, hardback book

Precious circa 1936 "Children of Japan" by Stella Burke May published by Rand McNally & Company of Chicago.

A note on the introductory page: "All information contained in Children of Japan has been carefully gathered by the author herself, who has both lived and traveled in Japan."

Pre-World War II look at the daily lives of Japanese children. It shows a very traditional Japan.

It has a good collection of black and white photographs.

This was a school library book. The spine is suffering and the covers are very scuffed. It has thick cardboard covers which has help protect the interior for more than 73 years.

The interior pages are in Fair to Good condition - they certainly are readable. They are NOT ripped but have some minor stains, the school library stamp and a little hand writing (adult)in pencil, on the pages.

Wonderful look at a life style soon to change. Great reference material.
