1927 Double Sided Salesmans Calendar Sample Lithographs

Outstanding original 1927 double-sided salesman's calendar sample on cardboard stock. Each side features a wonderful lithograph print.

ONE SIDE of the sample - CC Soles Dry Goods & Notions, for shoes, hats and caps - features a scene with an attractive 1920s woman seated at a desk looking over her finance book. Note the gorgeous pink-fringed lamp on the table! The borderless print is titled "Almost Enough for a Home." The printer's stock number of SM 4727 is imprinted onto the board.

Condition: The lithograph is in mint condition. On the calendar, there is a tiny 1/16" tear along the bottom edge. Under extreme scrutiny, you'll find on the cardboard very minor scuff marks on the outer border to the left of, not on, the lithograph.

The REVERSE SIDE of the sample - The Georgetown Water, Gas, Electric & Power Co. - features a richly colored borderless lithograph of a woman and child, a self-portrait after an 18th century painting titled "Madame Le Brun and Daughter." The artist is one of our favorites, 18th century French artist Louise Élisabeth Le Brun. The printer's stock number of SM 4726 is imprinted onto the board.

Condition: The lithograph is in mint condition and again, under extreme scrutiny, you'll find on the cardboard very minor scuff marks on the outer border to the left of, not on, the print.

Additional observations: The Georgetown side has a very small dog-ear crease on the cardboard at the lower left corner, however, it is closer to a bend on the CC Soles side. The other three corners of the cardboard are soft from wear.
