Vintage Copeland Spode Italian Fruit Bowl c.1930

A Copeland Spode fruit bowl printed in blue in the popular `Spode's Italian' pattern. The Italian pattern was introduced by Spode in c.1815 and has never been out of production since. The quality of the engraving and potting is indicative of production in the 1920s or 1930s, and of the bowls I have seen in this pattern this is one of the best for depth and richness of colour. The bowl has the blue printed marked used until c.1960.

The bowl is in good condition. There are three small areas of loss to the glaze on the rim around 0.1inch in size, close together towards the top as the bowl is displayed in the first image but no cracks or restoration. There are a few utensil marks to the glaze in the base from normal usage.

The bowl is 7.9 inches wide and 3.5 inches high.
