Nature Inspired Handmade Copper Earrings with Etched Smoky Quartz

These unique handmade copper earrings were inspired by my love of nature! I love creating unique patterns into metal. Recently, I found these lovely smoky quartz stone beads, which have an etched pattern that is similiar to a stamping pattern that I have been using to resemble twigs.

I sawed the earrings out of copper sheet, and then hand stamped the fern pattern into the metal. I created this pattern with my favorite stamp, which was given to me by my father. This stamp is very special to me for this reason. It is just a small, little crooked line ..... but I love it!! I have used this singular line over and over again - to create many different types of patterns with it. I also hammered the sides of the earrings for additional texture. The earrings were then topped off with the etched smoky quartz stone beads. The copper was oxidized, buffed and polished to give it a rustic, antiqued and earthy finish.

The earrings measure approx. 1-3/4" in length and 3/4" in width. They are topped off with niobium ear wires, which is a hypoallergenic material.
