TWO PAIRS 1950s Retro White Nylon Ladies Dress Gloves
These gloves are medium size, approximately glove size 6 - 6-1/2. From the tip of the middle finger to the top edge of the cuff, they are only 7-1/2 inches long -- the "shorty" retro style that was so popular then.
We are offering them because they are so well made, with incredibly fine, tiny, tight stitching, NO loose or broken threads, extremely fine seams and top quality tailoring. Astoundingly, there are NO holes anywhere, even between the fingers!
They were found packed away among mother's other vintage clothing and accessories. We have NOT washed or laundered them. We are not vintage fabric experts and do not want to cause harm!
PAIR #1 - Has beautiful top embroidered bows in French knots; there is a tag sewn inside: "100% NYLON / S-T-R-E-T-C-H / FITS ALL SIZES / Made in PHILIPPINES / WPL 8931". There is no maker's name on the tag. IMPORTANT: The cuff hems are turned over a narrow strip of elastic. The elastic has hardened and no longer stretches. IMPORTANT - The hem stitching has pulled out in one place on each glove and needs to be repaired. SEE OUR PHOTO PLEASE. IMPORTANT - For some reason, the right glove is distinctly whiter than the left.
PAIR #2 - Has delicate trailing leaf design top embroidery at the cuff end and scallops with embroidered edges. There is a label inside that is partially unreadable due to partially raveling away, but we can see it says "Fits size 6-6-1/2". IMPORTANT - the fingertips on these gloves are slightly grayish, probably from wear before being stored.
