This vintage 1970s genuine high quality Brighton brown leather purse is a `Must Have' for any Brighton collector. Not only is in near mint condition it is a true, beautiful classic! Gorgeous soft smooth brown leather with center moc or faux Crocodile design on both front and back, etched silver metal large X in true Brighton which secures the double leather straps to the Purse. Left side has as a long strip of matching leather which attaches the silver metal Brighton creed and heart fob making a perfect gift for this upcoming Valentine's Day! The inside has a divided center with zipper compartments on each side mad of brown cotton canvas and the interior has the embossed brown leather emblem or Bright Tag hallmarked `Brighton. The Brighton Collection. The handbags are individually crafted from high quality leather No 870100'. Measurements are: Purse: 9" tall by 4" wide at the bottom The straps each measure 32" long by ¾" wide The X motif metal that hold the strap to the Bag measures 1 ½" long by 1 ¼" wide The silver metal heart Fob measures 1 ¼" wide 1" long and ¼" deep

The Brighton Story: The Brighton line was created in 1966 and founded by Lee and Ginny Leegin of California which operated out of a warehouse in Redondo Beach producing leather sandals, belts and hand bags. Jerry Kihl took over the company in 1972 with many new leather designs of western belts, fashion cowhide belts hat bands and much more creating the Brighton line. Brighton branched out two years later producing jewelry, footwear, eyewear, watches, accessories and food for the home. Now Brighton has many stores selling wallets, watches and other leather accessories along with woman's jewelry consisting of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, pendants, brooches pins and ankle bracelets. Brighton is designed mostly of silver metal that is etched or embedded with circular, oval and oblong shaped links and hearts, some with faceted Swarovski crystals of bright turquoise blue, lavender purple, hot pink, orange, green and amber colors. Brighton also sells a line of charms and charm bracelets in hearts, flowers, leaves and swirls. Brighton collections are all unique original designed and accessories lines coordinated to create a match. Some of the products are manufactured in France, Italy, Spain, China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
